Hardwares Started
In 2015, a small team saw a clear gap in Ruaka's hardware market. Contractors were struggling to find quality building materials at honest prices. Retailers were either out of stock or charging inflated markups. There had to be a better way.
Pioneer Hardwares opened its first branch in Ruaka Miferenji, next to Muchiri Heights. The commitment was simple: stock the materials builders actually need, price them fairly, and be open when people need us, seven days a week.
As Ruaka grew, so did we. We expanded with a second branch, Pioneer2 in Kibichiku along Getathuru Road, Kabete, bringing the same standard of service to a wider community of contractors, developers, plumbers and homeowners.
Nine years later we carry 500+ products, from cement and roofing sheets to steel bars, plumbing fittings and hardware accessories. Our core promise has not changed.
Nine Years of Growth
From a single shop in Ruaka to two branches serving the wider Kiambu corridor.
First branch opens at Ruaka Miferenji, next to Muchiri Heights. Started with cement, roofing sheets and core building materials for the growing Ruaka construction market.
Added tiles, pipes, electrical supplies, plumbing fittings and hardware accessories. Stock grew to 300+ products. Contractors started calling Pioneer first before visiting other suppliers.
Introduced same-day delivery across Ruaka and Kiambu County. Builders no longer needed to transport materials themselves. Pioneer became the default choice for site deliveries.
Stock expanded to 500+ products covering structural steel, paint, electrical conduit and water tanks. Over 2,000 customers now rely on Pioneer across Kiambu County.
Second branch, Pioneer2, opens at Kibichiku along Getathuru Road in Kabete. Brought the full Pioneer product range and service standard to a wider community of builders across the Kiambu corridor.
